The certification by the yacht classes is essential to work on the equipment. The classification of yachts answers to strict standards that are set to ensure the strength of the yacht’s hull, the correctness of the propulsion and steering, as well as the proper functioning of the additional equipment fitted on board the vessel. Each has its own rules for safety equipment such as fire extinguishers or life-saving equipment.
There are many rules for a yacht certification to be delivered which ensure safety, soundness of construction, as well as pollution protection equipment.
To maintain its “class” approval, the yacht is subject to inspections by representatives of the classification society. In general, an inspection is carried out every 5 years in order to renew the certificate.

Yacht Certification by American Bureau of Shipping (ABS)
The American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) is a classification company, with the mission to promote the security of life, property and the natural environment. The responsibility of the classification firm is to verify that marine vessels and offshore structures comply with Rules that the stucture has established for design, construction and periodic survey.

Yacht Certification by Bureau Veritas
Bureau Veritas establishes and applies rules in relation to the design and construction of a ship, and assesses the structural strength of the ship as well as the reliability of the machinery on board during its life.
